At the Cannes Yachting Festival, CMC Marine announced a strategic partnership with Dometic to combine CMC Marine’s advanced stabilizer technology with Dometic’s Optimus steering system.
The company, leader in electrically actuated stabilization systems, presented also the integration of its cutting-edge stabilization systems with Raymarine Axiom chartplotters, made possible through the innovative DALI interface, along with several product innovation, such as STAB50. The latter is the largest stabilization system in the Waveless line, presented together with an innovative fin shape, designed by the R&D office in Milan and developed in the new production plant in Salerno.
CMC Marine’s novelties represent the first concrete results of the three-year company development project launched less than a year ago, with a planned investment of 10 million euros.
CMC Marine chose the international stage of the Cannes Yachting Festival to present to the press the first results of its ambitious three-year development project, announced less than a year ago at METS in Amsterdam. With an investment of 10 million euros over 3 years, the company founded in 2005 by Alessandro Cappiello, current president, intends to achieve significant milestones. CMC Marine today showed the first important results: the partnership with Dometic for the integration of CMC Marine stabilization systems with Optimus steering systems, the one with Raymarine, as well as the launch of the new STAB50 system, and finally an innovative fin design.
Strategic partnership with Dometic: a new standard of excellence
The growth plan also involved partnerships with other market players to improve the offering and integration of CMC Marine systems. In this context, the partnership with Dometic is of absolute importance. The two companies, both leaders in their respective sectors, have joined forces to offer an unprecedented comfort experience for yachts between 40 and 115 feet, thanks to the perfect integration of CMC Marine stabilizers with Dometic’s Optimus steering system.
CMC Marine has successfully tested the integration of its Stabilis Electra and Waveless STAB systems with the Optimus steering at its development center in Pisa and at a major OEM shipyard. This integration, validated according to the highest standards of performance and reliability, will allow optimal synergy between stabilizer fins and rudders, improving comfort, maneuverability, and safety at sea.
“We’re glad to integrate Dometic’s excellent steering with our fins and Argo control, allowing our common customers to get even more from the systems working together” commented Alessandro Cappiello, “Both companies have a strong focus on technology and comfort on board, hopefully this is just the beginning of a prolific partnership.”
“This partnership demonstrates how two forward-thinking companies can work together for the benefit of vessel owners,” said Eric Fetchko, Dometic Marine Segment President. ” We are experts in precision steering technology for a wide range of vessels. CMC Marine is a world leader in electric fin stabilization systems. By combining our engineering and manufacturing expertise, we can enhance vessel ride and handling for yacht owners worldwide.”
Successful integration with Raymarine
CMC Marine announces also the integration of its cutting-edge stabilization systems with Raymarine Axiom chartplotters, made possible through the innovative DALI (Display, Assistance, Logging Interface) interface.
Through this integration, users gain access to comprehensive functionalities such as monitoring fin movements and performance, selecting operating modes and parameters, and accessing system information and alarms directly from their Raymarine Axiom. For vessels equipped with CMC Marine’s Directa steering system, users can also manage rudder positions and select operating modes effortlessly.
To integrate CMC Marine systems with Raymarine Axiom chartplotters, users will require a DALI module, compatible with Raymarine Axiom+, Axiom 2 Pro and Axiom 2 XL chartplotters running the latest LightHouse operating system.
World premiere of STAB50
One of the most anticipated innovations is undoubtedly the STAB50, the new model in the Waveless range that stands out in the market for its excellent performance, offering unprecedented comfort. Moreover, its compact dimensions make this stabilizer particularly suitable for installation even in small spaces, while ensuring easy installation and use. The new STAB50, along with the other 4 existing sizes in the range, meets the needs of those looking for an effective, practical, and versatile product that guarantees an excellent on-board experience.
Innovative fin design: performance improvement
CMC Marine also unveiled the new design of its fins, the result of work by the company’s engineers. This innovative fin shape, designed in the think tank at the Milan office and produced entirely at the Salerno production plant, improves zero speed performance up to 20%, without sacrificing performance while underway. The new fins, the first to be produced at the new facility, represent the result of investments made both in research and development at the Milan office and in enhancing production capabilities in Salerno.
These initial results will be followed soon by important news on many of the company’s products, in the spirit of innovation, technical excellence, and ever-greater integration on board the best-known vessels on the market. In the coming months, in particular, innovative solutions for the range of thruster propellers will be revealed, further enriching the current offering.
