Majesty Yachts’ fuel-efficient lightweight composite hulls prove increasingly popular with the US yachting community
Majesty 120 US debut follows the announcement of two brand-new superyachts – the Majesty 111 and Majesty 160
Majesty Yachts, one of the world’s most innovative boat and yacht builders, is continuing its circuit of major international boat shows with the US debut of its stunning Majesty 120 superyacht at the prestigious Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Following the brand’s premier at the show in 2019, Majesty Yachts has witnessed increased demand for its innovative composite-built superyachts in the US and is asserting its ongoing commitment to the market.
The premier of the Majesty 120 at FLIBS — the world’s largest in-water boat show — is another 2022 landmark for Majesty Yachts which is committed to pushing the boundaries of cutting-edge technology, sustainable solutions and uncompromising modernity. Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Gulf Craft – the parent company of Majesty Yachts – recently announced two new superyachts in the Majesty Yachts line-up. The Majesty 111 was unveiled at Dubai International Boat Show in March followed by the Majesty 160 at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. These new vessels exemplify a new design language across the Majesty Yachts line – seamlessly blending lightweight efficient performance, low draft and contemporary styling.
Majesty Yachts’ reputation as an industry innovator in the use of composites was epitomized by last year’s launch of the Majesty 175 – the world’s largest advanced composite-built production super yacht. The Majesty 175’s incredibly efficient hull makes her accessible to many unchartered territories to a yacht of her size. Thanks to Yankee Delta Studio for completing her naval architecture, the Majesty 175 has a draft of 2.05m and her smart layout – designed Cristiano Gatto – accommodates 14 guests in 7 lavish staterooms and a crew of up to 10 members. The Majesty 175 is powered by twin MTU 2,012hp engines.
During Majesty Yachts’ FLIBS debut in 2019, the Majesty 140 was voted best in show. The Majesty 140 remains Majesty Yachts’ best-selling yacht in the US and the Majesty line is particularly popular with discerning owners in the States. This year the Majesty 120 will be building on this success and showcasing its latest innovative energy-saving heat recovery smart system.
Mohammed Hussein AlShaali, Gulf Craft Chairman, says: “The US is an important market for us. In 2021 we saw a significant uplift in sales which is a tribute to the unique advantages of our yachts and our position as the world’s leader in composite hull production. The yachting community in the US appreciates the value of our trailblazing use of composite hulls compared to traditional steel vessels because they are lightweight, offer competitive fuel economy and allow the effortless navigation of shallow waters particularly around Florida the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
“We’re bringing luxurious bespoke standards and skilled craftsmanship from Dubai to the US yachting community. Our yachts are also built to withstand exceptional levels of heat and humidity which are common to both Dubai and the US. Majesty Yachts is also one of the world’s only vertically integrated shipyards where everything from concept design, research and development, engineering and manufacturing are all done in-house at our Dubai factory. We are proud of our ambition to push the boundaries of possibility and the jewel in our crown is the Majesty 175 which, as the world’s largest composite-built production superyacht, has reinforced our position as an innovator in the use of composites.”
Majesty 120
Available in two engine options — CAT Engine (C32B-2400BHP) and MTU Engine (16V2000M96L, 2600HP) — and capable of a top speed of 22 knots*, the 37.5-metre Majesty 120 can accommodate up to 12 guests in six generous staterooms.
The superyacht also features breakthrough energy-efficient HVAC systems and an innovative Heat Recovery System which allows heat waste to be recycled for other purposes such as hot water heating or cabin temperature control. These systems can save more than 80,000 kW per year in all-year-round basic yacht system energy use — regardless of guests being on board — and contribute significantly to energy savings when the yacht is fully occupied.
The Majesty 120 offers guests a variety of dining, lounging and sunbathing areas with a vast sundeck that is 30 percent larger than other yachts in its class. The superyacht, designed by Majesty Yachts’ in-house studio, is constructed with advanced composite material such as vinyl ester and carbon fibre and features a draft of just over six feet.
Majesty 160
The Majesty 160 is designed by the award-winning Cristiano Gatto Design Studio in Italy and the naval architecture is penned by the world-renowned Van Oosennen Dutch Naval Architects. The superyacht is capable of a top speed of 19.5 knots* and a range of 3,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots*.
Built in line with Bureau Veritas Commercial Yacht Rules for yachts under 500 gross tonnage (GT), the Majesty 160 has a gross tonnage of 498 meeting all safety requirements of a vessel of 500 GT including an emergency generator.
The Majesty 160 also features solar panel technology that is capable of continuously powering the emergency generator in even the most demanding circumstances. In addition to the emergency generator, there are three other regular generators.
The superyacht can accommodate up to 12 guests in seven lavish state rooms as well as crew of up to nine. The most striking feature of the Majesty 160 is the Master Suite which includes a private lounge, retractable balcony, large ensuite and full-beam Master cabin.
Majesty 111
Announced at the 2022 Dubai Boat Show, the Majesty 111 revolutionises the luxury of superyacht space. Rather than allowing full access around its superstructure, the Majesty 111 features a dynamic asymmetrical design which allows access only on one side of the yacht. On the other side, the interior space is fully maximised to the edge of the yacht, rather than used for access points.
Gulf Craft – the parent company of Majesty Yachts – also has a stable of sports cruiser and leisure boat brands. The Oryx, Nomad and Silvercraft lines are planned to make their entry into the US market in the coming years.
